March Reading Frenzy!!!

There is a global reading frenzy going on, and it's originating from Fabulosity Reads corner of the book blogging hemisphere. The book-tour promoter has more literature to share, this time in the form of eNovels; the frenzy running from the 27th through the 30th of March.

Now, I haven't yet matriculated over to e-reading. I still prefer sinking into books. For me, I've got to be there... in that book zone, which is hard to do if I'm checking email, answering a Tweet, and tapping my foot waiting to see a doctor. And just forget curling up with, or nestling into a little square stainless steel, polycarbonate, recyclable piece of hardware. I only do books, with the soft pages that can turn as I sink.

But... BUT... I am a major fan and the ultimate supporter of READING, however this works best for the reader.

L.T. Woody’s In Black In White memoir provided a great escape. I hadn't experienced a story about boys in the 60's, some out of the projects, mixing with other boys from all over the country to attend a preppy boarding school. Very engaging. Not the Mother I Remember by Amber Lea Starfire was another engaging memoir. And so was Bill Cosby's 'I Didn't Ask To Be Born' ...Oh WoW! That was one definitely best experienced in a reclined position.

Other books facing me: Desperate to Be a Housewife by Meg Borton, along with Michael Moore's Here Comes Trouble, and Easy Like Sunday Mourning by Jennie Marts. Perhaps after I finish reading these books, and find this other life I know I desperately need, I'll swing back for two more books I caught on Fabulosity's Book Frenzy Hop!

No More Mulberries by Mary Smith sounds interesting; PLUS the book is available in paperback. Set in Afghanistan, British-born Miriam finds her marriage to her Afghan doctor husband heading towards crisis. She has to journey into her past to understand how unresolved issues are damaging her relationship. It is a story of commitment and divided loyalties, of love and loss, set against a country struggling through transition.

Flaps Down: The Reluctant Hero by Jackie Weger also reads like a winner, and like the other, this one too is available in paperback. The synopsis says If you are a fan of Humphrey Bogart and The African Queen or Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark, you will love this book. Parnell Stillman, ace pilot, is man to the bone in a lackadaisical kind of way. He has the ability to fly through anything except solid mountain. He lives alone because people are not to be trusted—especially women. Flying is his high road until one sleet-filled morning--it isn’t. Mischance forces his plane down in a frozen wilderness. He can survive, but his live cargo is another matter--an annoying social worker and five orphans--the most irksome freight he’s ever hauled in his life.

  1. RYCJ: Thank you so much for hosting eNovel Authors at Word March Book Frenzy! And especially the lovely comments about Flaps Down-The Reluctant Hero, an HEA romance. It was nominated for a Readers' Choice Award 2014. The ebook is only 99 cents today and tomorrow. It does have a paperback edition. Again, thank you! It is a treat to be here.

  4. I've read Flaps Down and heartily recommend it - I still have Mary's book to read.
Like you, I do still prefer print books (and my e-reader has bitten the dust, yikes) so its great to still have the choice on some books. Only one of mine is in print but I'm getting there with the others.
And many thanks for hosting this tour!

  6. (I deleted the previous comment because of typos. Lol.)

I'm so glad to find a fellow blogger who feels exactly the way I do about reading ebooks!! YAY!! I LOVE the way you put it, too: " And just forget curling up with, or nestling into a little square stainless steel, polycarbonate, recyclable piece of hardware. I only do books, with the soft pages that can turn as I sink." This is definitely spot on!!

I'm especially interested in the book titled "In the Beginning", but it's only available in a Kindle edition. I'm hoping and praying that the author, Abby Vandiver, will also release it in print later on....

I also like the books you've picked, and thankfully, they're indeed available in paperback!! For my own March Book Frenzy post, I picked two other books whose covers I like just as much as the plots. Of course, I concentrated on the paperback editions.

BTW, I LOVE your blog! I like your writing style, and the books you feature. So I'm going to follow you with Bloglovin'!!

It's great that you're participating in this awesome event!! Happy hopping!! : )
