Staying on Topic

Have you ever lived in a rural town? In low country or in the 'boonies'? In an urban city or 'the Hood' or both? In 'the burbs' and Overseas? Have you ever lived in a military community... or worked with tech moguls... or how about working in banking... or for minimum wage? Have you ever worked for yourself? Started your own company? Have you worked for government? A private firm... in corporate? ...or with Ivy League professionals and educators/scholars? Have you graduated from college? Birthed children...and raised them... guided them to college and watched them graduate? Have you Married? Divorced? Been married more than once? Have you ever been 'on benefits'? Been homeless? Lived on the streets? Have you seen the inside of prisons? …Or lost a loved one? Or opened your door to someone in need? Have you organized any major project...or led any major event? What about this? Have you ever written a book? Maybe written dozens of books? Do you like to read? And have you read as many memoirs as I have?

I know your list is different. Why I try to stay on topic, talking about things in my lane… experiences I’ve seen and lived BECAUSE after all the memoirs I’ve read, the one topic I have yet to read, IS THE SAME STORY TWICE. 😉

Just finished reading You Carried Me by Melissa Ohden (thoughts here), and Straight Shooter by Stephen A. Smith (thoughts here).
