It’s Always the Little Stuff …Game Changers

CORRECTION. Last post (I think) I made a big error. In my last post I wrote “(I believe) the general was a FIVE STAR GENERAL,” which while casually explaining what I shared in that post to my husband, he stopped me. “Five star general,” he asked, one brow raised, head crinkled. I was like, “so, you haven’t heard of a Five Star General?” Then my voice shrunk as he explained the last time he recalled one, or maybe how so few of them he recalled. So yeah, there’s a really good chance I miscounted the stars on the general’s shoulders.

On that note, before moving along with more of my sightings (😂), I just finished Phases by Brandy (thoughts on book here), when I saw a photo of her brother RayJ in her memoir. His face looked so familiar, and the name I thought I had heard before too. It became one of those instances where you spend half the day beating yourself up trying to remember where you saw (or heard) something. Gotta be careful, you know. Once I was a describing a movie that hadn’t even come out. (Geez😅). …When it dawned on me! ‘Ms. Pat Settles It’ is where I saw RayJ!!! Like WoW. Small world.

All to post, little things are as important as the big stuff. It's like someone having a good day down at the local deli passing on that energy to a customer who passes said vibe on to the next encounter, and so forth and so on. Happens the other way around as well. But here are eight other things that naturally, and truly made me smile since my last post.

I caught a documentary on Raye Montague (American Naval Engineer) from Little Rock, Arkansas. The real inspiration behind this post.

The Artemis II Landing (take off too). A real mood enhancer.

Howard Hu Orion Program Manager’s speech after the landing.  “…Just because you’re passionate about something doesn’t mean it won’t have its moments when you ask ‘is this worth it...’” It’s happened to me before, throwing in the towel. One mistake I promised never to repeat. I smiled when he threw in on the end, “Come work for us at NASA!” I imagined many, after watching this program, not only looking into this offer, but motivated to explore the sciences on that day.

A Football Life ‘Bruce Arians. His story so resonated.

Taraji P. Henson, on Beat Bobby Flay!!! Love ‘em both! And now one of my favorite episodes.

The word minimalist. I can no longer recall where I recently heard this word but smiled all day long. Though I try …I try …I try… I continue to find it so hard to keep it simple stupid! (My mom used to tell me this ALL THE TIME).

The Swiffer commercial (duster kit). The actor! Truthfully, it was the smallest sighting that gave my day the biggest boost recognizing him from a TikTok stay-at-home house-cleaning opportunity!
